INSIGHTS
The reason I started training is...
Growing up I was always the girl who hated participating in any sport throughout school. In highschool I had the opportunity to take a weightlifting class and from that day on I fell in love with weight training.
The person I most wanted to be when I started was...
Ironically, Jodi Boam was the very first athlete I looked up to and followed on YouTube and Facebook. Soon after, I discovered Dana Linn Bailey.
The supplements I can't live without are...
AGENT•M, GLUTAMEND, SPINACH•FLEX
The best thing about training is...
Putting my headphones on, selecting a song to get me pumped up and turning the world off. This way I can give 100% of my focus entirely on the muscle being trained. It’s feeling that burning sensation in your muscle when it begins to fatigue and still having the inner strength to keep pushing. I always love a challenge and pushing past the point where you want to give up is what I strive for.
Two things I would change about physique competitions are...
With Women's Physique being such a new division, I believe that Dana Linn Bailey winning the Olympia title has set a good standard for the division. I would like to see the rules towards the suits change. The Physique division is very beautiful and I think that they should be allowed to glam up the suits just like the Figure division. This would allow the women to feel more polished and beautified.
My ultimate goal is...
Obtain my IFBB pro card and stand on the Olympia stage.
Years I’ve been training...
I began training at 17 years old but have become more consistent over the past 5 years.
What I enjoy most about competing is...
Being able to watch my body transform throughout each stage of the competition prep. It’s truly fascinating what the human body can accomplish.
The thing I hate most about stepping up onstage is...
Stepping on stage. I have always been the quiet, shy girl, growing up; never wanting to be the center of attention or put myself out there. Stepping on the stage means going way out of my comfort zone and putting my fears aside to pursue my goals. Never let your fears control you!
The pros I most look forward to being onstage with are...
Dana Linn Bailey.
The one thing every competing bodybuilder should know is...
Time management is essential. Between work, prepping meals, training, posing practice and sleeping, there just never seems like enough time in a day.
One bodybuilding secret I discovered is...
Mustard and Franks Red Hot become your best friends.
